St.Colman's N.S. is a registered green school. For the past 2 years the school has worked hard trying to reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill, recycling and re-using other items which previously would have been sent to landfill. Our efforts were rewarded when the school was presented with our first Green Flag on May 19th at a ceremony at the Life Time Lab in Cork. 3 members of the Green School Committee (Beth Aherne, Josh Rossiter and Cillian O'Donovan) along with school Principal Mary O'Brien accepted the Flag and certificate on behalf of the school. There will be a Flag raising ceremony at the school later in the term. Well done to all the committee, pupils and staff who have worked so hard and without whom we would not have been able to achieve this honour.
